back from band camp, with (unfortunately) one less foot than when I went (figuratively speaking). Our drill writer for marching band is crazy-insane good. However, they keep finding it convenient to deliver me the most taxing mello drill spots (despite the fact that I've been the shortest mellophone since freshman year). It never really bothered me before until camp this year. The field we practiced on was covered in thick spots of grass that were rock-hard and about ankle high, and naturally my second set was a 16-count backwards jazz run slide (can you imagine explaining that to a doctor?). Anywho, my rght foot caught one of those said pieces of grass on about beat 8 and I flew. It made a wonderful crackling noise, like rice crispies being stepped on, and I was wisked away to the emergency room where I waited until 3am to get pain medicine and be x-rayed.
It's broken and sprained, but I can march again in a month, so I'm happy
